HARVESTING 2006 THE OLD FASHIONED WAY at HEYSHOTT near MIDHURST We were proud to sponsor Harvesting the Old Fashioned Way once again this year, which took place at Manor Farm, Heyshott, near Midhurst, on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th September 2006. This year was the most successful ever, and proceeds go to Macmillan Cancer Support and R.A.B. Institution. We were blessed with sunny, hot weather for both days. Attractions this year included shire horses, threshing, Chiddingfold, Leconfield & Cowdray fox hounds, Brighton and Storrington Beagles, country crafts, vintage ploughing, gun dogs, birds of prey and kids' corner. The local Macmillan community palliative care team, based at Midhurst Community Hospital, provide cancer patients with support within their own homes, and are working towards developing a more innovative, quite ground breaking service for the longer term. Other services include access to the Macmillan CancerLine, Support Groups and Macmillan Grants. “It is so important that fundraising activities in the Midhurst area continue in support of Macmillan, to ensure that the valuable care and support offered to people affected by cancer continues. The money you raise now for Macmillan will make a vital contribution towards the cost of supporting this service. “One in three of us will get cancer. 1.2 million of us are living with it.
